STITCHES & NOTES

Puff Stitch: Yarn over, insert hook into st and pull up a loop, (yarn over, insert hook into same st and pull up a loop) three times, yarn over and pull through all 9 loops on hook.

Attach fringe: Holding three strands of yarn together, fold lengths of yarn in half. Insert a crochet hook from wrong side to right side of border and pull the folded loops through. Pull cut ends through folded loops and gently pull to tighten.

Base rnd, each side: Multiple of 6 + 1 + corner sts.

Begin 1 st to left of corner st.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *[dc in next 2 sts, Puff Stitch in next st, dc in next 3 sts] to corner st, (2 dc, Puff Stitch, 2 dc) in corner st, dc in next st; rep from * around, omitting last dc, join with slip st to top of ch-3.

Rnds 2 and 3: Ch 1, sc in each st around, placing 3 sc in each corner st, join with slip st to first sc.

FRINGE

For each Puff Stitch, cut three pieces of yarn slightly longer than two times the desired length of fringe. Attach fringe (see Stitches & Notes, left) through top of Puff Stitches on Rnd 1. 3
